Darren Wainer, Partner & VP of Business Development

Darren is chiefly responsible for building the Insignia brand and national footprint. Prior to joining Insignia, Darren worked for a number of prestigious title agencies and underwriters and earned a strong reputation in New York for successfully managing complex commercial and residential closings. As a result, he developed an impressive network of clients that includes close relationships with many of the City’s most respected developers and real estate firms. Darren first got his start in the business as a title closer. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he moved to America twenty five years ago. Darren is heavily involved in his local community and various charities. He is married with two boys and lives on Long Island.

Yossi Zarfati, Partner, Counsel & VP of Business Development

Yossi began his legal career working at several firms where his primary focus was real estate representation as well as various other aspects of the law. After a few years of general legal practice, he joined Ticor Title’s National Commercial Division and shortly thereafter took a position as Commercial Counsel for a direct underwriter where he spent seven years reading, clearing and closing title on behalf of some of the largest developers in the City. Yossi joined Insignia several years ago and splits his focus between business development and handling various title and legal issues for Insignia’s clients. He received his law degree from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law School and his B.A. from Queens College, City University of New York.

Joann Prinzivalli, Chief Underwriting Counsel

Joann previously served as Vice President and Chief Underwriting Counsel for Stewart Title Insurance Company and has over 35 years of title experience with underwriters and agents. She has also been of counsel to the real estate department at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, and at one time was General Counsel at Westchester Federal Savings Bank.

She has served on bar association committees and chaired the law committee of the New York State Land Title Association. Joann has served on boards of directors of several community organizations and charitable foundations, and on an advisory board that serves the Westchester County Executive. She was elected to the Westchester County Democratic Committee and White Plains Democratic City Committee. Her published body of work includes authoring the chapter “Commencing the Foreclosure Action” in Mortgage Foreclosures in New York (Bergman, Ed., NYSBA), and as a major contributor to Stewart Title’s award-winning Virtual Underwriter.

Joann received her B.A. from Notre Dame College of Staten Island and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1978; where she was editor of The Forum.
